Village trees is a pencil sketch from around about the 1980’s and we think the scene is somewhere near Manchester.

As well as being a wonderful cartoonist, Max was fairly serious about landscapes, abstract and all other forms of creative artwork and worked in all medias. Some of his work is a little on the dark side. The cartoons demonstrated the opposite lighthearted side of Max and all is here to see.
